I’ve been working on some banners for The Welsh Rare-Bits Co.  I’ve worked in the same style as my artist book that I entered for the Sheffield International artist book prize. If you are interested in purchasing the catalogue of all the beautiful books entered into that competition, you can buy it here.

While the craft fair wasn’t a success, I’m really pleased with the banner I designed for it. Although I think it does need to be done in a lighter colour so that It doesn’t get lost.

The Sketchbook Project 2013

I decided to take part in the Sketchbook Project again. I loved being a part of it last year and had no hesitation in signing up again. I think if you are an art student out there it is a great experience to be a part of and would thoroughly recommend. I didn’t do my paper cut outs this time, I decided to show some of my typography. Hope you enjoy!

Here are some badges that I did especially for my sister. She wanted some badges to put on her satchel for work with her husbands, her own and my niece’s initials on. If anyone is interested in me doing personalised badges of any sort drop me an email.

The Sketchbook Project ’13

I enjoyed taking part in The Sketchbook Project ’12 so much that I have entered again for the 2013 tour. Here are some photos of my cover. As for the theme, im at a bit of a loss so if you have any suggestions please leave a comment. I would actually be really grateful to read what your thoughts are on it. You can find the link on the side bar to the sketchbook I did for this years tour. Again, love to hear from you if you have a spare moment. Take care, X

Sketchbook Covers

Whenever I start a new sketchbook, doesn’t matter whats its for, I always label them in some way. Now this may sound twee but it gets me in the right frame of mind for some reason to get on and do something. I love typography and so this is why i enjoy the process so much of designing the front cover of my sketchbook. Here are a few I’ve done for university. Bits&Bobs, Research and Development. I don’t know if anyone else feels like this but when i create a sketchbook, every little thing is an idea that has been developed. I struggled a fair bit with this in uni because they wanted it to be clearly documented in stages but thats not how I work unfortunately. Even the lettering I do on my front covers contribute in some way to the final outcome.
