Floral Critters

This work was originally intended as development work for university. My initial intention was to turn this into some sort of installation, creating gigantic leaves to conceal the little critters. I think when I have the time I would still like to do that someday, for now though, i’m making a few of these and having them boxed framed. They are available to be bought, just email me if you are interested or even if you have any other queries. Its always lovely to hear from people!

The Borrowers

This work was done last year for The Miscellaneous Sideshow exhibition that I took part in with uni. I think that if i would have had the tools I would have really loved to work even smaller. I adore the work of artist Tessa Farmer and the microscopic way in which she works. I made gypsy caravans to of the skulls which were one’s i had found down the woods. A lot of reconstruction was needed for them as over time a few had been crushed, luckily I had my trusty super glue handy!! I loved that tv programme, The Borrowers when I was growing up, the one with Ian Holm, so i decided to use them as inspiration, having them travel around in skulls.

Catalogue Work

A closer look at the work I had in the exhibition catalogue. It was for an advertising brief we were given in uni. The theme we had to work around was natural history. I can’t really draw in the traditional sense so this was my take on natural history. I decided to do designs for the brand LIBERTY. Huge admirer of them, my dream job is probably being commissioned to do one of their window displays!

Exhibition Catalogue

I’m only now getting round to sorting through all the photo’s on my camera as well as tracking down photographs of the actual exhibition. So this was the catalogue that we had for our exhibition at the Grand Theatre in Swansea. I think a few people, including me, were a bit nervous about how the catalogue was going to look but it turned out quite well in the end. One of the students on the course, Jazmine, was in charge of designing the front cover. She has all of us design a silhouette that related to our work in some way. Mine in the key that is at the end of the wings!!

Hello!! Welcome to my blog. On this site I will be posting my work, some of which will be finished pieces and some of which are still in progress. Also, any news which I think would be exciting enough to share with you and also some of the things which inspire me. Hopefully, i’ll be able to give you something interesting to read and may even find some artists who you have never heard of before and that you find useful. I’m always grateful for any comments on my work, if you don’t like it that is fair enough, everyone has the right to their own opinion. What I will not tolerate however, is people being mean, whether that is in regards to my work or comments others have written. But lets not dwell on the negative. I hope you all really enjoy the blog!
